Review & Matching

The Review Queue

How the one-at-a-time review flow works and what each card asks.

The Review queue

Review is where you resolve anything Satsuma couldn't fully handle automatically. It shows one card at a time — each card is a single transaction or receipt, with all its open questions bundled together.

What shows up in the queue

Cards appear for five reasons, served in this priority order:

  1. Matches — a receipt match was suggested and needs your confirmation
  2. Pick a receipt — a transaction has candidate receipts to choose from, but none was auto-matched
  3. Check receipts — a receipt that failed to parse properly; Satsuma wants a human eye on it
  4. Unplaced receipts — a receipt that no transaction can plausibly claim
  5. Categories — a transaction was auto-categorized and the category hasn't been confirmed yet

A card is retired when you click Approve (which marks the record as reviewed). Answering a single question — like confirming a receipt — keeps you on the same card so you can also verify the category before approving.

Filtering the queue

The row of pills at the top lets you narrow to a single reason type. Each pill shows a count. Filtering doesn't remove other cards — it just shows you a subset.

Focus mode

Click Focus mode to open the current card full-screen. This locks your scroll and shows a clean interface with just the card and its action buttons at the bottom. On mobile, you can also swipe left to skip the current card.

Press Esc or the × button to exit focus mode.

Skipping cards

Click Skip to defer a card to your next session. Skipped cards are remembered per session and shown again next time you open Review. You can bring them all back at once with the "Bring back N skipped" button that appears when you have skips.
